Question 1

What is The Vent Vault?

Accepted Answer

The Vent Vault (https://theventvault.me) is a finite anonymous digital sanctuary where you can write down secrets, frustrations, and unspoken thoughts. Submissions are capped at 1000 characters and sealed into a global vault that permanently closes upon reaching 1,000,000 notes.

Question 2

Is The Vent Vault completely anonymous?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There are no user accounts, passwords, or profiles. The Vent Vault does not tie your IP address, name, or email to what you write. Payments are handled via an isolated processor, keeping your billing identity strictly decoupled from your note.

Question 3

Why does The Vent Vault cost $2 to submit a vent?

Accepted Answer

The $2 micro-commitment acts as an anti-spam barrier that eliminates automated bots, commercial promotions, and trolls, ensuring every entry is authentic human expression. It also funds infrastructure costs so the platform never displays ads or sells user data.

Question 4

What happens when The Vent Vault reaches 1,000,000 notes?

Accepted Answer

When the one-millionth vent is accepted, the jar seals permanently. No further submissions will ever be accepted, preserving the vault as a closed digital time capsule of collective human vulnerability.

Question 5

Can other people reply to or judge my vent?

Accepted Answer

No. The Vent Vault has no comments, reply threads, likes, upvotes, or public user profiles. Visitors can only read occasional solitary notes through the Peek Reader, ensuring complete freedom from criticism or unsolicited advice.

Question 6

Can I edit or delete my vent after submitting?

Accepted Answer

No. Once submitted and verified, the note is permanently sealed into the vault archive and cannot be modified or deleted. The emotional relief comes from letting go completely.
